ROOF RESTORATIONS PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS
INSPECTION
At THE SWAN GROUP OZ PTY LTD, we understand that your roof plays an essential role in protecting your property and needs regular maintenance to maintain its durability and long-term performance.
During our initial inspection, we carefully assess your roof’s overall condition, checking for unsealed overlaps and penetrations, damaged screw washers, rusted roofing screws, and deteriorating roof sheets.
We also check for damaged or cracked ridge caps, blocked weep holes, broken tiles, or tiles with silicone repairs, along with any other signs of damage to your roof.
ANTI-MOULD & STERILISATION
On stubborn dirty roofs, a product called high clean is applied.
This product sterilises the roof, kills mould and helps it release from the surface.
The product takes about 15 minutes for it to take effect.
It is combined with the high pressure washer for best chance of paint adhesion.
HIGH-PRESSURE CLEANING AND GUTTER CLEANING
There are a few different ways to clean a roof, depending on the substrate.
When cleaning a typical roof, we begin by using a rotary cleaner to efficiently remove dirt from large surface areas while taking precautions to prevent leaks and water damage to your property.
After completing the initial rotary cleaning, we use a turbo lance to remove stubborn dirt, grime, and built-up debris for a more thorough clean.
Finally, we use a rinse-down lance to wash away all remaining dirt and grime into the gutters. Once complete, we thoroughly clean your gutters, removing any accumulated dirt, leaves, and debris to ensure proper water flow.
ROOF REPAIR
Metal roof repairs, including sealing overlaps and penetrations and replacing damaged roofing screws or sheets.
Tiled roof repairs, including grinding and rebedding ridge caps, repointing the caps, clearing weep holes to ensure proper drainage, and replacing broken roof tiles.
MASKING
Protecting gutters and solar panels with proper masking before painting helps achieve a clean, professional finish for your home.
Creating clean, sharp edges is essential for achieving a neat and professional finish on every roof restoration project.
PRIMER/SEALER
We use high-quality primers suitable for different types of roofing materials. Our team selects specialised primers to ensure excellent adhesion and a durable finish for every roof restoration project. Some of the most commonly used primers include:
Metal Primer Plus
A clear, high-adhesion bonding coat designed to provide excellent adhesion across all metal roof surfaces.
Rust Inhibitor Primer
Provides superior adhesion to rusted metal roofs while preventing rust stains from bleeding through the protective roof coating.
WB Primer
A versatile roof tile primer suitable for most tiled roof surfaces, including previously painted roofs.
CT Primer
A high build primer for the 12 year warranty membrane giving your roof more build for more porous roof tile
Platinum Primer
This is the bees knees tile roof primer, it has the prefect mix of solids for build and styrene acrylic for maximum adhesion, and is mainly used with the 20 year roof membrane product
Roof Protect Thermal Heat Reflective Coating
Roof Protect Thermal Heat Reflective is made using a 100% pure acrylic emulsion, formulated with high surface tension (TG) for enhanced coating performance.
Thermal HRC membranes contain higher levels of titanium dioxide to reflect more solar heat away from your roof, providing added protection and backed by a 12-year warranty.
The roof membrane forms a smooth, water-resistant surface when wet, allowing rainwater to wash away accumulated dirt and debris. As a result, your roof stays cleaner for longer.
Our roof membrane is environmentally friendly and designed to minimise harmful chemical impact. It is also water-based, making cleaning and equipment wash-up easy with water.
Rainwater from the roof is also safe to collect after the first wash or rainfall.
